Matthew has successfully defended clients charged with all ranges of criminal offences including impaired driving charges; drug possession/trafficking/production charges; serious personal injury offences (murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault, assault with weapons, sexual assault, etc.) and weapons offences, to name a few.
He received his degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Manitoba in 2010 where he was awarded the Irvin Goldman Prize in Criminal Law to recognize his top academic performance. Matthew completed an undergraduate degree at Mount Royal College where he was placed on the Dean’s and President’s List for his accomplishments. Prior to entering law school, he worked as a clerk at Calgary’s Provincial Criminal Court where he became familiar with the various facets of the judicial system from an internal perspective.
In addition to acting as a partner at Dunn & Associates, Matthew acts as an executive member of the Criminal Defence Lawyer’s Association in Calgary and volunteers his time advocating for a just and fair judicial system.
His strong academic ability combined with his work ethic and ability to maintain grace under pressure have proven to be an effective combination of skills in ensuring the best possible outcome for his clients.
