A growing number of personal injury lawsuits that began in the United States involving Onewheel electric skateboards could find their way to Canada.
The motorized skateboards are manufactured in the U.S. and sold in this country. These conveyances have been subject to mass recalls and personal injury claims after “incidents resulting in serious injury, including concussion, paralysis, upper-body fractures, lower-body fractures, ligament damage and traumatic brain injury,” according to a USA Today report.
Between 2019 and 2021, four deaths were reported while using the skateboards, all the result of head trauma, USA Today reports, adding that in three of the deaths, the riders were not wearing a helmet. To read more, click here.
