Potential link between contraceptive injection and brain tumours

Canadian women taking Pfizer’s Depo-Provera or its generic version may have reason for concern following reports that the contraceptive injection may increase the risk of brain and spinal tumours.

Recent medical literature concludes that long-term use of Depo-Provera increases the risk of developing intracranial meningioma, a type of brain or spinal cord tumour.

Pfizer is facing a product liability and negligence suit brought by a California woman who says she needed “delicate and highly invasive surgery” after developing a brain tumour following years of receiving Depo-Provera injections. For more, click here.
