As far back as he can remember, Geoffrey Lowe wanted to be a lawyer. Working in human resources allowed him to zero in on employment law as the field he wanted to be in. Work is a crucial component of nearly every person’s life: either the work they are doing to support themselves, or the work that someone who is supporting them is doing. When interrupted it has a profound and lasting impact on the people immediately impacted by this interruption, as well as society as a whole. With this in mind, Geoffrey’s choice to work in employment law was an obvious one: an opportunity to assist with one of the most important parts of a person’s life.

He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2016 and articled and practised at a civil litigation firm, where he gained valuable experience in all aspects of the civil litigation process. Geoffrey subsequently worked with Stuart Rudner and other members of the Rudner Law team including Brittany Taylor, Nadia Zaman, Mary Kadric, and Janis Buckley at Rudner MacDonald LLP. Since then, he has worked at firms with both an employer and employee focus and has developed an understanding of each side of the equation.

Geoffrey’s legal experience is bolstered by his varied work experience. He built and ran a human resources department for a private security firm, taught English as a Second Language in South Korea, and worked on the field crew for several Ontario Land Surveyors. Geoffrey has been able to leverage this knowledge and experience to better comprehend, meet and exceed the requirements and expectations of each client he works with.

Geoffrey obtained his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph, a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources Management from George Brown College, and his Juris Doctor from Western University.

Outside of the law, Geoffrey’s strongest interest is in fitness and martial arts. He is an avid weightlifter, a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and he is learning, gradually, how to do yoga. When time permits, Geoffrey and his wife foster retired racing greyhounds.
