COVID-19 pandemic led to a spike in child porn charges

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of Canadians charged with offences related to child pornography shot up. Almost three times as many people were arrested in 2020 than in 2014. More than two-thirds of child pornography charges were for making or distributing child pornography and about one-third were for possessing or accessing child pornography. To read more, click here.
