Ian M. Hull co-founded the firm with his father, Rodney Hull, in 1998, with Ian also maintaining a mediation practice. He is a lecturer at the Ontario Bar Admission course and guest lecturer for the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is also the author of four books on estate law issues – including the seminal Probate Practice, now in its fourth edition – and numerous articles.

Ian is a certified specialist in estate and trust law and civil litigation, a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He was chosen by LawDay as one of the top 60 estate and trust lawyers for 2009 and 2010.

Ian is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only fellowship of exceptional trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds from the United States and Canada who have demonstrated the highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism and collegiality.

He was recently been inducted into the Canadian Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, an invitation-only association whose members are amongst the most respected civil, commercial and labour alternative dispute resolution professionals across Canada.

Ian also helped found e-State Planner, a software designed to make the estate planning process simple, efficient and client-friendly, while decreasing administration overhead and cutting down on typographical errors.
