No one wants a relationship to end, but sometimes it becomes too difficult to live together as a couple. Separation becomes more complicated when children are involved. Often, both parents feel hurt and angry toward each other for the disappointments of what might have been.
Separation or divorce is a great loss for a family, including the children. It can be viewed as the “death” of the family unit, from the way that it was. But parents and children living apart are still a family. Through the inevitable changes, there is hope that a “new” family can develop; different from the old one, but a family filled with connection, love and support.
